FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Playoff Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Playoff Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

There are only three games Tuesday , s Pittsburgh and Philadelphia aren't playing their fourth game until Wednesday. Given how high-scoring that series has been, that's not so good for daily fantasy players. Still, here are my recommendations for your lineup.

GOALIE

Sergei Bobrovsky, CLM vs. WAS ($8,700): Bobrovsky just made 54 saves in an overtime victory on the road, and now he and the Blue Jackets will try and hold serve at home. It should be easier for the Russian netminder, as the Capitals only managed 28.2 shots on net per contest on the road. As for Bobrovsky, he had a 2.42 GAA and .921 save percentage, so he can more than handle his own.

CENTER

Eric Staal, MIN vs. WPG ($7,200): With no Flyers or Penguins to choose, the matchups Tuesday aren't so hot (except for one of them I will get to next). So you may just have to opt for reliable players you can trust in almost any matchup. Staal exploded for 42 goals and 34 assists this season, and he had two points in Game 3 of this series. That was Minnesota's first home game of the playoffs, and it scored six goals. It's just one game, but only a few games any little bit of positivity is worth noting.

Pierre-Luc Dubois, CLM vs. WAS ($6,000): Dubois started 65.8 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, second highest on the Blue Jackets to trade deadline acquisition Thomas Vanek. The rookie had two points in Game 1, and over his last 10 games he's notched 13 points. The Capitals had a 3.29 GAA on the road, and they have questions in net after Philipp Grubauer was pulled for Braden Holtby in Game 2.

WING

Artemi Panarin, CLM vs. WAS ($8,100): You would be hard pressed to find a player hotter than Panarin. The Bread Man has notched seven multi-point games in a row, and he has four power-play points in this series already. Philipp Grubauer has a 4.55 GAA and .837 save percentage in this series, and Braden Holtby had a 2.99 GAA and .907 save percentage this season. Either way, Panarin won't be too worried.

Tyler Toffoli, LOS vs. VGK ($5,400): Toffoli doesn't have a point yet in this series, but he's been active at least. He's notched 14 shots on net through three games. On the season, he managed 251 shots on goal, lighting the lamp 24 times. The Golden Knights had a 3.00 GAA on the road, which at least makes this a decent matchup.

Thomas Vanek, CLM vs. WAS ($4,900): As previously noted, Vanek has started the highest percentage of his shifts in the offensive zone for Columbus (66.2). He performed well after the trade, as he notched seven goals and eight assists in 19 contests. The Capitals had a 3.29 GAA on the road, just outside the bottom 10, and clearly they have not been at the top of their game defensively in this series.

DEFENSEMEN

John Carlson, WAS vs. CLM ($6,400): Carlson already has a whopping six assists in this series. That comes after he had 53 helpers during the regular season to go with 15 goals and 237 shots. He's having a truly outstanding season, and clearly this matchup hasn't bothered him yet. Like I said, the matchups aren't great Tuesday. Might as well go with an elite talent, especially since top defensemen tend to be cheaper than forwards.

Jonas Brodin, MIN vs. WPG ($3,600): With Ryan Suter out, Brodin has seen his role increase for the Wild. Over his last 10 games he's averaged 24:19 in ice time. He has a point in each of his last two games, and six in his last eight contests. Minnesota jumped all over the Jets in Game 3. If they do it again, it could bode well for Brodin.
