Celtics Aim To Close Series Against Pacers
The Indiana Pacers will host the Boston Celtics at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Monday in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Celtics are leading the series 3-0.

The Pacers have their backs against the wall, and they will be under pressure for the remainder of the series due to the 0-3 deficit. However, the scenario could’ve been considerably different had Indiana been able to play better down the stretch in Games 1 and 3. The Pacers could’ve won Saturday’s game in Indiana, but some questionable decisions on both ends of the court forced them to settle with a loss despite having the lead for most of the second half. The Pacers have gained valuable contributions from players such as Pascal Siakam, Myles Turner, T.J. McConnell and Andrew Nembhard. Still, it remains to be seen if they can defeat the Celtics without their star player, Tyrese Haliburton, running the show. The Pacers have gotten agonizingly close to doing so in at least two of the three games of the series, but it remains to be seen if they can cross the finish line on Monday. Otherwise, their season will come to an end.

Tyrese Haliburton is questionable for Monday’s game with a hamstring injury, but his chances of playing are quite slim. Bennedict Mathurin (shoulder) is out.

The Celtics are potentially 48 minutes away from reaching the 2024 NBA Finals, though that shouldn’t be a surprise, considering they were the best team in the league during the regular season by a wide margin. Boston didn’t play its best game in Game 3 of the series, but as great teams often do, the Celtics came through when they needed it the most, and they left their best basketball for the final minutes, where Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday carried Boston to the finish line. The Celtics have everything in their favor to secure their first trip to the NBA Finals since 2022 when they lost to the Golden State Warriors. Boston has had to work hard to win in two of the three games this series, and if the team can carry the momentum into Monday’s game, then all the signs would point in its direction to complete the sweep.

Jrue Holiday (illness) and Luke Kornet (wrist) are questionable for Monday’s game. Kristaps Porzingis (calf) is out.
