This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.
Only the three evening games are included in the main contests at DraftKings on Sunday. Here are a handful of recommendations across multiple price points to consider while assembling your Sunday lineups…
GOALIE
Ryan Miller, VAN vs. NJD ($7,900): The Devils have scored just 1.96 goals per road game, and Miller boasts a 6-1-1 record with a .927 save percentage and 2.11 GAA through his past eight home starts. Additionally, the Canucks are an impressive 15-6-2 record at Rogers Arena.
CENTER
Eric Staal, MIN at CHI ($6,700): Scorching hot, Staal has nine goals, 21 points and 33 shots over his past 15 games and entered Saturday's game with a seventh-ranked 2.98 points per 60 minutes among all skaters with at least 750 minutes this season. Playing consecutive road games isn't ideal, but there's still plenty of profit room in Staal's salary.
Bo Horvat, VAN vs. NJD ($5,000): With five goals, 14 points and 27 shots while averaging 18:08 of ice time (2:23 with the man advantage) through his past 15 games, Horvat is a strong value option against New Jersey on Sunday. After all, the Devils have allowed the fourth most scoring chances per 60 minutes (31.07) on the road this year.
WING
Patrick Kane, CHI vs. MIN ($7,500): This salary isn't prohibitive enough to fade Kane. Even in a rough matchup, he's a lineup building block and has notched four goals, 17 points and 51 shots over his past 14 games. Additionally, his 3.39 points per 60 minutes top all skaters with at least 2,000 minutes over the past two seasons.
Artemi Panarin, CHI vs. MIN ($6,800): With a small slate and plenty of players on the second leg of back-to-back games, Panarin stacks nicely alongside Patrick Kane. The salaries don't break the bank, and the duo has combined for an excellent 2.88 goals per 60 minutes at five-on-five over the past two seasons.
Loui Eriksson, VAN vs. NJD ($4,300): While skating with Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin hasn't been overly successful this season (2.07 goals per 60 minutes), Eriksson's value still jumps with his return to the top line. As noted, this is a great matchup against New Jersey, and Eriksson checks out as an excellent source of cap relief.
DEFENSE
Duncan Keith, CHI vs. MIN ($5,100): Currently rolling offensively, Keith has two goals, 13 points and 29 shots while averaging 25:45 of ice time (3:45 with the man advantage) through his past 14 games. Additionally, he owns a seventh-ranked 1.58 points per 60 minutes among all defenseman with at least 6,000 minutes over the past four seasons. This salary is low considering his excellent current production and offensive track record.
Hampus Lindholm, ANA vs. STL ($3,700): The 22-year-old defenseman scored a goal Saturday and led all Ducks in ice time (24:53). It's an encouraging sign going forward, and Lindholm currently presents huge upside relative to his low salary. The Blues are also on the wrong end of back-to-back road games and entered their Saturday tilt allowing a league-high 3.76 goals per game away from Missouri.
