FanDuel NHL: Wednesday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Wednesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Goalie

Brian Elliott, PHI vs DET ($8,000): The Red Wings are averaging just 2.63 goals per game — 26th in the league — and are 3-4-3 in their last 10 games. Simply put, I don't see Detroit scoring more than one or maybe two goals against Elliott on Wednesday.

Center

Alexander Wennberg, CBJ vs TOR ($5,000): I'm all in on Wennberg and Columbus at home in this spot to bounce back after an embarrassing effort last game. With a three-game point, Wennberg has re-earned the trust of head coach John Tortorella, something he had lost earlier in the year, especially defensively. The Maple Leafs have allowed 13 goals and 16 assists in their last 12 games to centers.

Tyler Bozak, TOR at CBJ ($4,100): The Maple Leafs put up eight goals against Carolina. Bozak had a goal and three assists skating with James van Riemsdyk and Mitch Marner, a line that had a ton of success last season. He's seeing power-play time on the first unit and should have no problem hitting value in this spot.

Wing

Josh Anderson, CBJ vs TOR ($5,600): With goals in three of his last five games, Anderson has cemented himself on the first line. He has 20 shots on goal over that span and 13 goals on the season. Against a Toronto team that played Tuesday, Anderson is worth a look, especially at home where he has scored 12 of his 17 points on the season.

Wayne Simmonds, PHI vs DET ($5,400): Over the last four weeks, the Red Wings have allowed 13 goals to right wings, the highest mark in the league over that span. Skating on the first line and top power-play unit, look for Simmonds to have a productive night.

Micheal Ferland, CGY vs STL ($4,900): Ferland automatically gets a bump in upside skating on the top line with Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan. He has 13 goals on the season with five coming on the power play. Ferland has two goals in his last four games and lit the lamp in this same matchup back on Nov. 13th.

Defense

Ivan Provorov, PHI vs DET ($4,200): Provorov may not have points in any of his last five games, but he's offering fantasy production with a decent floor with shots on goal and blocks. He's averaging 2.15 blocks and 2.24 shots per game and has four goals to go along with 10 assists. His ice time ranks 14th in the NHL among defensemen at over 24 minutes per contest.

Dougie Hamilton, CGY vs STL ($4,800): With two assists in his last game, Hamilton broke a six-game pointless streak and his salary is currently the lowest it's been all season. At times he looks like a legitimate offensive weapon on the blue line, and other times he looks completely lost. His inconsistent production makes him a tournament play for me.
