DraftKings NHL: Wednesday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Wednesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Jake Allen, STL vs. CHI ($8,500): The Blues are still in control of their playoff destiny, so Allen is worth considering in this must-win game. St. Louis has surrendered the fewest high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (8.37) in the league since the All-Star break, and Chicago owns an active 3-11-1 road record while scoring just 2.26 goals per hour.

CENTER

Jack Eichel, BUF vs. OTT ($7,500): Ottawa has only won once through its past nine games and also allowed 38 goals during the slide. Additionally, without Erik Karlsson (personal), this matchup becomes all the more attractive. Eichel's price is manageable, and he's just an outing removed from recording three goals, five assists and 14 shots during a three-game stretch.

Matt Duchene, OTT at BUF ($6,300): The 27-year-old center is finishing the season off in top form with eight goals, nine assists and six multi-point showings through his past 15 contests. Duchene is locked into a top offensive role, and there's nothing scary about a date with the basement-dwelling Sabres, either.

WING

Jaden Schwartz, STL vs. CHI ($6,600): As noted the Blackhawks have struggled through their past 15 road games, which includes allowing 4.4 goals per 60 minutes during that stretch. It projects as a ripe matchup for Schwartz to break his current offensive funk. He's recorded just a single assist through his past four outings despite sporting a team-high 2.93 points per hour this season.

Nino Niederreiter, MIN at ANA ($4,500): Projected to skate on the top line with Eric Staal and Jason Zucker, Niederreiter is a buy-low candidate. He's missed the scoresheet in five consecutive games and has had a down season overall. However, Staal and Zucker have combined for 4.73 goals per 60 minutes this season, so look for Niederreiter to get in on the scoring.

Colin White, OTT at BUF ($2,800): After recording an assist Monday, White is skating on the No. 1 line with Matt Duchene and Mike Hoffman. It's a cushy fantasy gig in a favorable matchup, and the rookie's salary also opens up oodles of cap space to spend up elsewhere.

DEFENSE

Rasmus Ristolainen, BUF vs. OTT ($5,600): Considering Ottawa's highlighted struggles, Ristolainen is a strong option. He's collected four assists, five shots and three blocked shots during an active three-game point streak, and he's seen his ice time climb to 27:19 (6:30 on the power play) during that stretch.

Brandon Montour, ANA vs. MIN ($4,600): With Cam Fowler (shoulder) out, there's potential for Montour's value to skyrocket. He's already collected three goals, seven points and 20 shots while logging 24:16 of ice time (2:31 on the power play) through his past 10 contests, and this could prove to be a favorable home matchup with Ryan Suter (leg) out for the Wild.
