Completes Daytona Test
IMSA
December 17, 2018
Zanardi has conducted his first test with BMW Team RLL ahead of his debut in the Rolex 24 at Daytona next month. The 52-year-old Italian, who will share the No. 24 BMW M8 GTE with Jesse Krohn, John Edwards and Chaz Mostert, worked through a "comprehensive" development program at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, sportscar365.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Zanardi's test of the hand controls in the team's BMW M8 GTE was a success. The team also worked on driver changes with Zanardi and having to remove the hand controls for other drivers. Although these issues were worked through, the veteran driver didn't get the quality time on the Daytona road course due to poor weather. It's a step in the right direction and hopefully something Zanardi can build on for the upcoming Rolex 24.
