Leist qualified third for Sunday's Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, which will be his first race in the IndyCar series.

ANALYSIS
Leist was one of three rookies to advance to the Firestone Fast Six round of qualifying in mixed conditions. He praised his team's effort throughout the weekend, but now must focus on maintaining that good start through an entire race distance. He heads the second row alongside fellow rookie Jordan King.
