Past Fantasy Outlooks

2007
Statia hit .242 with a home run and 20 RBI with Double-A Arkansas. After stealing 29 bases the year before, he only swiped eight bags last season. Statia is very good defensively, but he’ll need to make some adjustments at the plate after finding Double-A pitches to be a lot harder to hit than the ones he saw in A-ball. Statia will likely repeat Double-A this season.
Despite hitting only three homers last season, Statia proved that he has a knack for knocking in runs. Statia hit .288 and had 74 RBI for High-A Rancho Cucamonga. He also had 29 steals and was caught only eight times. Statia’s best aspect is his speed and he closely resembles another Angels’ prospect, Erick Aybar. Statia is only 21 and will likely begin the season either with Rancho Cucamonga or with Double-A Arkansas.
Lookee here, an Angels shortstop prospect who actually projects as a shortstop. Statia isn't moving off the position, which makes his offensive development in '06 that much more enticing. He'll add a little power, but his game will about getting on base. Nice low-level prospect with a very low profile.
