Past Fantasy Outlooks
2014
2012
Wagner has posted impressive strikeout totals throughout his lengthy minor league career, but wasn't able to carry it over to the majors upon getting his first real chance in 2013. He still posted a respectable 3.79 ERA and 4.13 FIP over 38 innings, despite finishing with a modest 7.8 K/9 mark. Seeing as he'll enter the 2014 campaign as a 30-year-old reliever with very little major league experience, Wagner will have to claw his way to a spot in the Toronto bullpen.
Wagner fanned a whopping 53 batters in 37.1 innings at Double-A Midland, earning his first look at the Triple-A level in the process. He was solid there, but not spectacular, and considering that he will be 28 years old when the season starts, we're looking at a future middle reliever buried on the organizational depth chart for a club with plenty of useful arms.
