Past Fantasy Outlooks
2011
2010
2009
Bromberg led the minor leagues in strikeouts in 2008, but his strikeout rate fell significantly last season (to just 5.8 K/9IP in Double-A). It was a good sign to see his strikeout rate rise to 10.1 K/9IP in the Arizona Fall League (6.75 ERA and 25:7 K:BB ratio in 22.2 innings). He'll begin next season at Triple-A and could get a chance to join the major league rotation at some point in 2011 if a spot opens.
Bromberg was named Florida State League pitcher of the year after going 13-4 with a 2.70 ERA for High-A Fort Myers. After leading the minor leagues in strikeouts in 2008, he had a strong strikeout rate again (8.7 K/9IP). However, his control (148:63 K:BB ratio) could use some improvement and he's a little old at 22 to be considered an elite prospect. Still, a strong start at Double-A could see him rise rapidly and reach the majors in 2011.
Bromberg led the minor leagues in strikeouts in 2008 and emerged as a potential breakout prospect for 2009. He started slow at Low-A Beloit, but had a strong second half, posting a 2.98 ERA and 79:20 K:BB ratio over 60 innings in his last ten starts. Despite a 4.44 ERA, Bromberg struck out over a batter per inning with good control (177:54 K:BB ratio) thanks to a mid 90s fastball and plus curveball. A strong season at High-A Fort Myers could put him on the fast track for the majors.
