Yao-Hsun Yang: Signs Minor League Deal With Pirates
Yang signed a minor league contract with the Pirates on Thursday, which includes an invite to spring training, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Yang will make the jump to American baseball after several seasons with the Softbank Hawks of Japan, the last of which came in 2012 (1.48 ERA, 9.5 K/9). The 31-year-old southpaw is said to have a mid-90s fastball as well as a slider and a splitter, but it's anyone's guess as to how those offerings will play against more advanced hitters.
