Rather than go into Spring Training with uncertainty, Echevarria on Sunday agreed to terms with the Nippon Ham Fighters of the Japanese Pacific League, according to the Associated Press. The 31-year-old hit .306 with three homers and 21 RBI in 50 games for the Cubs. He batted .295 with 13 homers and 45 RBI in 63 games for AAA Iowa before joining Chicago on June 20.
