Patterson will be waived by the Hawks on Sunday, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Patterson and the Hawks are reportedly agreeing to a mutual parting of ways, as Patterson is currently working through a personal issue. It's particularly concerning considering the fact that the Hawks signed him for the rest of the season just last week, so it remains to be seen how long this personal issue will keep Patterson away from the game. Once everything is sorted out, Patterson will likely head to the D-League to restore his value unless another NBA team comes calling right away.

2014 NBA Draft: Fantasy Value Review
June 27, 2014
RotoWire's Josh Lloyd broke down every team's selections from the 2014 NBA Draft to discuss each player's potential value in fantasy next season. This is a must-read piece.
Past Fantasy Outlooks
2016
2015
A second-round draft pick of the Hawks in 2014, Patterson spent his first season as a professional in Turkey before earning a training camp invite heading into the 2015-16 campaign after leading Atlanta in scoring during summer league. He continued to impress the Hawks with his play during training camp and the preseason and was ultimately able to earn a roster spot to start the season. It was still mostly a development year for Patterson, however, who shuttled frequently between the D-League, where he played 19 games, and the Hawks, with whom he played in 35 contests, averaging just 11.3 minutes per game. During his time on the floor in both the D-League and NBA, Patterson demonstrated an unreliable jumper but did flash some occasional skills as a facilitator. If he can improve his shooting touch, Patterson could make a case for more playing time after joining the Kings this offseason, though any increase in minutes likely wouldn't be significant.
Patterson, who played professionally in Turkey in 2014-15, signed a partially-guaranteed contract this offseason. In his lone season overseas, Patterson produced 11.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 29 minutes per game. As a senior at the University of Pittsburgh in 2013-14, Patterson posted 17.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 33 minutes per game through 36 games. He shot 44 percent from the floor, 39 percent from beyond the arc, and 75 percent from the free-throw line. After leading the Hawks' summer league team in scoring at 13.1 points per game, the strong, 6-5, 220-pound guard has a decent chance to earn one of the Hawks' final roster spots. However, even if Patterson does make the roster, he will face an uphill battle for minutes.
