October 4, 2006
Anderson suffered an undisclosed wrist injury and could miss up to six weeks, the Miami Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
The Heat offered the veteran swingman a contract for this season, but have put the offer on hold until the injury is healed. Ultimately, it could cost him a job with the defending champs if some depth guys emerge during the preseason.

Anderson will provide some veteran leadership to younger players on the bench, with a very small amount of time on the floor.
Anderson was brought back as a spot player who is a relentless defender while a liability on offense. Anderson likely won’t average more than 10 minutes a game, if that, and his value will not be worthy of the fantasy radar.
Anderson will be buried on the depth chart at both guard and forward. Like several other bench players on this team, Anderson’s fantasy value will increase if Allan Houston’s knees prevent him from playing.
The addition of Jamal Crawford gives the Knicks a solid three-guard roation with Stephon Marbury and Allan Houston, meaning Anderson will have to find his minutes at small forward behind Tim Thomas. Of course, Houston could continue to have problems with his knee, which could pave the way for more playing time.
