FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

As the NHL regular season approaches its conclusion, there are 11 games on the docket Tuesday. Your chances to play daily fantasy are dwindling. If you want to try and make the most of your opportunities, here are some players who are a particularly good value:

GOALIE

Cam Talbot, EDM vs. LOS ($8,400): The Oilers have only allowed 2.53 goals per game, and Talbot has a 2.40 GAA and a .920 save percentage. Meanwhile, the Kings have only scored 2.41 goals per game. On top of that, Edmonton is 21-12-4 at home, while Los Angeles is 14-18-5 on the road. The Kings may be fighting for a playoff spot, but this matchup still looks good for Talbot.

CENTER

Alex Galchenyuk, MON vs. DAL ($5,800): Galchenyuk has dealt with injuries this year, but he's started 43.9 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone when healthy – the most of any Canadien. Galchenyuk has also averaged 2:25 per game on the power play, where he has notched 15 points. The Stars have allowed 3.15 goals per game, while also boasting the league's worst penalty kill.

Vincent Trocheck, FLA at TOR ($5,500): Trocheck has four multi-point games in his last 10 contests, while directing 27 shots on goal during that span and 214 on the season. Toronto has given up 32.9 shots on goal per contest, which is third worst in the NHL. That should allow for Trocheck to be able to put a few more pucks on net.

WING

T.J. Oshie, WAS at MIN ($7,000): March has not been kind to Minnesota. This month, the Wild have allowed 3.07 goals per game, and their goalies have a collective .886 save percentage. Oshie has averaged 13.5 fantasy points per game and has tallied 30 goals in a mere 61 contests. Additionally, in his 11 games since returning from an injury absence, he's averaged a whopping 3:35 per game with the extra man. As long as the Wild remain cold, they become an easier matchup.

Taylor Hall, NJD vs. WPG ($6,700): Hall has registered 216 shots on goal in 65 games, which is a very impressive number. While his shooting percentage is only 8.3, he's been hot recently by tallying four goals and four assists in his last nine games. Hall has also averaged 2:42 per game on the power play, notching 14 points in that time. The Jets have allowed 3.16 goals and 31.1 shots on net per contest, and also maintain the 29th-ranked penalty kill.

Rickard Rakell, ANA at VAN ($6,200): Rakell has enjoyed a breakout season, totaling 32 goals in 64 games. He also hasn't slowed down, notching 10 goals, four assists, and 46 shots on net in his last 14 games. Rakell has also started 37.1 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, which is fifth most of any Ducks forward. The Canucks have allowed 2.89 goals and 31.9 shots on net per game, and they've been decidedly worse in March, letting in 3.08 goals and a staggering 36.3 shots on net per contest.

Mathieu Perreault, WPG at NJD ($5,400): Perreault is currently enjoying a six-game point streak, where he has amassed 10 points, including six on the power play. He's tallied 14 power-play points in 59 games, and he's also started 34.7 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, second most on the Jets. Winnipeg has been awful defensively, but New Jersey has been just as bad by giving up 2.91 goals and 31.2 shots on net per contest.

DEFENSEMEN

Andrei Markov, MON vs. DAL ($4,700): Markov hasn't been quite as offensively proficient as he has been in the past, but has tallied eight points over his last 10 games. He's also averaged 2:38 per game with the extra man, notching 12 power-play points in 56 games. The Stars, as previously noted, have the league's worst penalty kill, and their goalies sport a collective .895 save percentage. Markov also has blocked 64 shots in 56 games. That's not a ton of blocks, but the Stars have averaged 59.4 shots attempts per 60 minutes, sixth most in the NHL. Therefore, Markov should be able to have more opportunities than usual to get in front of the puck.

Seth Jones, CLM vs. BUF ($4,600): The Sabres will be on the second night of a back-to-back, which likely means Anders Nilsson (2.74 GAA) in net. A major reason why Nilsson's GAA is that high is due to the fact the Sabres have allowed a league-high 34.3 shots on net per game. Jones has averaged 11.1 fantasy points per game, tallying 40 points in 68 games. And while he has only played 1:38 per game on the power play, that could be enough against Buffalo's 28th-ranked penalty kill.
