PITCHER
Stephen Strasburg, WAS at CIN ($11,900): It's a star-studded pitching slate Saturday, and Clayton Kershaw ($14,100) naturally stands head and shoulders above the rest. However, when looking for some cost-saving pivots with potential, Strasburg certainly fits the bill. The Reds have the seventh-lowest wOBA (.300) and 10th-highest strikeout rate (22.4 percent) against right-handed pitching. Strasburg carries a perfect 9-0 record into Saturday's game, and he has rung up double-digit strikeouts in three of his last five starts.
Junior Guerra, MIL at PHI ($6,800): Guerra's price hasn't caught up with the quality of his performances this season, and he draws one of the best matchups for right-handed pitching. The Phillies sport the third-lowest wOBA (.284) in the majors against righties, along with a 22 percent strikeout rate. They've also driven in the second-fewest runs (161) and have the second-lowest team batting average (.231). Guerra has had between six and 11 strikeouts in four of his last five starts, and he has done a solid job of keeping the ball in the park, giving up only two homers over 36.1 innings.
CATCHER
Matt Wieters, BAL vs. NYY ($3,900): Wieters has started to look more like his old self at the plate recently, as he hit .333 in May and has hit safely in his first two June contests as well. He brings along a terrific history versus Yankees starter Ivan Nova, who he's touched up to the tune of a .343/.439/.771 line over 35 at-bats, including four homers and seven RBI. The switch-hitting veteran also has a .356 wOBA against right-handed pitchers this season, while Nova surrenders a 33.3 percent hard contact rate to lefty bats.
FIRST BASE
Eric Hosmer, KC at CLE ($3,100): Hosmer can be had for a significant discount relative to his production, and he draws a pitcher with some long-ball vulnerability in Josh Tomlin. Hosmer has crushed righties this year, managing a .436 wOBA, .229 ISO and massive 44.4 percent hard contact rate against them, along with seven of his 10 homers. Tomlin has been tough on left-handed bats this season, but he has surrendered a 4.71 FIP and 33.8 percent hard contact rate to them, along with an 18.2 percent HR/FB rate.
SECOND BASE
Jose Altuve, OAK at HOU ($4,700): Altuve is typically a terrific play in either cash games or tournaments, given his reliability and propensity for filling up the box score. He's also a particularly prudent option when a pitcher with some control issues is on the mound, as the potential for him to pad fantasy point totals with a stolen base or two goes up greatly. He's got such a matchup in his sights Saturday, as A's starter Kendall Graveman sports a bloated 3.74 BB/9 rate while also allowing a .399 wOBA, 6.63 FIP and 32.9 percent hard contact rate. Meanwhile, Altuve has a .380 wOBA, seven of his nine homers, and 15 of his 16 stolen bases on the season against right-handed pitching.
THIRD BASE
Evan Longoria, TB at MIN ($4,100): The Rays' offense as a whole might be stuck in neutral on most days, but Longoria has a seven-game hitting streak, including homers in back-to-back games. He also boasts a favorable history versus Twins starter Ervin Santana, slashing .412/.450/.765 over 17 at-bats, along with two homers and three RBI. He's also hitting righties well overall, as he sports a .339 wOBA, .233 ISO and 44.1 percent hard contact rate against that handedness. Meanwhile, Santana's weakness has been right-handed bats, as he's yielded a .352 wOBA to them this season, along with four of the five homers.
SHORTSTOP
Jonathan Villar, MIL at PHI ($4,800): Villar has been stellar out of the leadoff spot for the majority of the season, and he shows no signs of slowing down, blasting homers in back-to-back games to increase his slash line to .306/.406/.446 on the season. Although he's seen his greatest success as a right-hander against southpaws, Villar hasn't exactly been shabby from the left side of the plate either. He's tallied a .337 wOBA and 32.7 percent hard contact rate against right-handed pitching, while Phillies starter Jeremy Hellickson has allowed a .349 wOBA and 31 percent hard contact rate to lefties, and he's yielded an even worse .440 wOBA and robust 6.34 FIP to them when facing them at home.
OUTFIELD
Mark Trumbo, BAL vs. NYY ($5,000): Trumbo is enjoying a memorable first season in an Orioles uniform, as he is tied for the league lead with 17 homers. He naturally brings tremendous upside for tournaments -- as he's scored 21 and 30 fantasy points in recent games -- along with a fantastic track record against Yankees starter Ivan Nova. Trumbo has blasted Nova over 16 career at-bats, slashing .563/.556/1.000 with a double, two homers and four RBI. His work against right-handers in general has been just as impressive, as evidenced by his jaw-dropping .413 wOBA, .261 ISO and 35.9 percent hard contact rate against that handedness.
Trayce Thompson, LAD vs. ATL ($3,200): Thompson has shown some nice upside in his opportunities this season, including double-digit fantasy points in four of his last 10 games. Lost in teammate Corey Seager's spectacular three-homer night Friday was the fact that Thompson blasted his ninth homer as well, making it back-to-back games with a long ball. He's posted an outstanding .391 wOBA and .303 ISO against right-handed pitching this season, along with a 28.6 percent HR/FB rate.
Brandon Drury, ARI at CHC ($2,300): With a number of high-priced selections looking particularly appealing on the full slate, there's always a need for some underpriced value with potential, particularly for GPPs. Drury checks in at a near-minimum price, and he is sporting a .346 wOBA, .210 ISO and 37.1 percent hard contact rate against right-handed pitching. He's certain to be under-owned with Jason Hammel on the hill for the Cubs, but his price carries minimal risk, particularly considering his upside.
