Pitcher
Brian Johnson, BOS vs DET ($6,600) – Is Brian Johnson the real deal? Through two starts, he's averaging 44 fantasy points per game, and while the matchup against Detroit isn't a great one, at this price, there's some room for error. Johnson has 14 strikeouts through 14 innings this season and if he can stay anywhere near that level against Detroit, he should pay off at his current salary. Detroit is sending Jordan Zimmerman to the mound, so the likelihood of a win is high, as well.
Catcher
Elias Diaz, PIT vs MIA ($2,000) – Vance Worley takes the mound for the Marlins, and if the Pirates were better as a team against righties, this would be a stack to target, but they aren't, so we'll have to pick our spots. Diaz is a great option tonight because he's still at minimum salary, yet he's averaged 8.9 points per game through 11 games. Diaz has also been better against righties this season with a .437 wOBA. While he's not likely to keep this pace up throughout the season, he doesn't have to do much to make value at this price.
First Base
Matt Carpenter, STL vs PHI ($3,100) – At this price, Carpenter is a great bargain and considering he's starting to get locked in, he could be considered a steal. Carpenter has hit homers off righties in his past two games and he gets another nice matchup against right-hander Jeremy Hellickson, who has struggled over his past seven starts. Hellickson has only one quality start in his past seven outings and a trip to face the Cardinals in St. Louis will likely extend that trend. Carpenter is averaging 10.3 points per game this season, a number that should continue to rise as he gets his groove back.
Second Base
Neil Walker, NYM at ATL ($3,300) – Walker has a great matchup tonight against Julio Teheran, but he's also serving as a placeholder for all the left-handed Mets. Teheran has been terrible against lefties this season and awful at home, so if those trends hold, the lefties on the Mets should feast. Walker has been on a tear lately and although he was held out of the lineup Wednesday, he should be good to go for this one.
Shortstop
Eric Sogard, MIL at AZ ($3,100) – I'm not exactly sure what has gotten into Sogard, but what looked like a fluke 10 games in is starting to look legit 12 contests later. Among batters with at least 50 at-bats, Sogard is now leading the league in wOBA against righties this season at .515. He'll face another righty in Randall Delgado, who has pitched well this season, but Sogard has gotten the better of just about every righty he's seen this season.
Third Base
Miguel Sano, MIN at SF ($4,400) – Matt Moore takes the hill for the Giants and his main concern will be Sano, who has been one of the best hitters in the majors this season against lefties with a .422 wOBA. Sano is averaging 13.8 points per game on the season, but over his past eight games that number jumps to 17.2. Moore has pitched well in spots this season, but he's coming off a poor effort and it could be the start of another bad run.
Outfield
Bryce Harper, WAS vs TEX ($4,500) – Andrew Cashner has allowed five runs in two of his past three starts and he's about to face one of the better lineups in baseball. Harper continues to produce at a high rate and he's always a good option against right-handed pitching. Harper is fourth in the majors in wOBA against righties this season at .459.
Chris Taylor, LAD vs CIN ($2,900) – Amir Garrett takes the hill for the Reds and he's probably one more poor start away from a demotion. Garrett has been awful in his past three starts, allowing at least six runs in each of them and his only saving grace in this matchup is that the Dodgers aren't great against lefties. With that said, Taylor is certainly capable of hitting lefties, as his .467 wOBA would attest. Furthermore, the Dodgers provide a quality low-priced stacking option against Garrett.
Jorge Bonifacio, KC at SD ($3,000) – Jhoulys Chacin has been significantly better at home than on the road, but he started to show some cracks at home in his most recent start. The Royals as a whole are struggling this season, but Bonifacio is one of the few exceptions and continues to produce. Bonifacio has also hit righties better than anyone on the team this season, as evidenced by his .377 wOBA.
