FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

The NBA continues to start off 2018 with a whimper as they play only five games Tuesday after playing just four games Monday. That leaves you with limited options for your FanDuel entry for the second straight night, but that doesn't mean there still aren't some great options. Here are some players to consider for your lineup that have promising matchups.

Guards

Dennis Schroder, ATL at PHO ($7,700): The Hawks are in full rebuilding mode and have limited, established talent right now, leaving Schroder to post the 16th-best usage rate (29.3%) in the league. He has a high floor based on his role with the team, scoring at least 36.5 FanDuel points in four straight games. The Suns allow the second-most FanDuel points per game (48.5) to opposing point guards, so Schroder could be in for a huge night.

Lou Williams, LAC vs. MEM ($7,400): The Clippers continue to be decimated by injuries because even though Blake Griffin has returned, Austin Rivers (Achilles) is now injured. Rivers did not play Sunday against the Hornets, leaving Williams to log 40 minutes and score 56.4 FanDuel points. Rivers is questionable Tuesday, so Williams could get a boost in value if he sits again. Even if Rivers does play, Williams can still be a great option as he scored 41.4 FanDuel points in his last game against the Grizzlies.

Marco Belinelli, ATL at PHO ($4,200): Belinelli gets a great matchup Tuesday because not only do the Suns play at the third-fastest pace (103 possessions per game) in the league, but they also allow the most points per game (112.4). Belinelli can score in bunches and has provided value of late, scoring at least 20.5 FanDuel points in four of his last five games. He won't cost you much, so he might be worth the risk if you want to save money at guard.

Forwards

Blake Griffin, LAC vs. MEM ($9,000): Griffin hasn't shown any rust coming back from a knee injury, scoring at least 39.2 FanDuel points in both games since he returned. He averaged 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists in those two games and should continue to put up excellent all-around numbers due to the Clippers' lack of depth overall. His 30.2% usage rate is 13th-best in the league, so expect big numbers from Griffin again Tuesday.

T.J. Warren, PHO vs. ATL ($7,500): While the Suns play at the third-fastest pace in the league, they aren't a great scoring team, averaging only the 13th-most points per game (105.8). Warren is the second best offensive weapon they have behind Devin Booker and is taking a career-high 16.3 shot attempts per game as a result. The Hawks allow the third-most FanDuel points per game (42.3) to opposing small forwards, so look for Warren to have a valuable performance in this game.

Frank Kaminsky, CHA at SAC ($5,200): The Hornets have depth issues up front with Cody Zeller (knee) out, leaving Kaminsky to be the primary backup at both power forward and center. He's stepped into the increased minutes nicely, scoring at least 25.5 FanDuel points in four of his last seven games. Though their overall talent is questionable, the Kings have a lot of depth up front, so Kaminsky may be needed to log added minutes Tuesday. There is upside here, making Kaminsky a viable option for your entry.

Centers

Dwight Howard, CHA at SAC ($8,900): Howard is coming off a rough game Sunday against DeAndre Jordan and the Clippers where he scored only 20 FanDuel points. He had scored at least 42.9 FanDuel points in three straight games entering Sunday, so it might be best to just chalk that up as one bad performance against another excellent rebounder in Jordan. The Kings present no such problems. Not only are their frontcourt rotations a mess, but the Kings allow the second most FanDuel points per game (57.1) to opposing centers. While he's the most expensive center for the evening, Howard is still worth consideration based on this matchup.

Pau Gasol, SA at NY ($6,200): Gasol has put up excellent all-around numbers of late, averaging 14.8 points, 12.2 rebounds and 5.6 assists over his last five games. One of those was a dominant outing against these same Knicks when he scored 40.7 FanDuel points. Gasol won't be able to keep up this pace for the rest of the season, but he's priced reasonably low enough to take a chance on again Tuesday based on his recent hot streak and success against the Knicks.

Deyonta Davis, MEM at LAC ($3,700): With so few games on the schedule Tuesday, your options for a cheap center with value are limited. If you want to go really cheap in tournament play, take a flier on Davis. He's played at least 15 minutes in each of the last three games, scoring at least 22.3 FanDuel points in two of them. The Clippers have size up front with Jordan and Griffin, so he could get added minutes again in this game. His upside is limited at best, but he still might be worth it at this price.
