Heat Handles Magic, 107-90
The Miami Heat defeated the Orlando Magic, 107-90, at American Airlines Arena on Monday night.

The Heat (2-1) welcomed in a Magic (1-3) squad that had traveled from New York late Sunday night and was playing its third game in four nights. The opening quarter unfolded exactly as those circumstances might suggest, with Miami looking like the much more energetic squad while building a 27-15 lead through one. Matters tightened up in the middle periods in terms of more balanced play, but the hosts' big early cushion afforded a comfortable home victory. The Heat was especially impressive on the defensive end, holding Orlando to 40.7 percent shooting and forcing 16 turnovers.

Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs co-led the Magic with 15 points each, with Wagner adding four assists, two rebounds, one steal and one block and Suggs recording four boards, two assists and one steal. Cole Anthony and R.J. Hampton generated matching 12-point tallies while pulling down nine and six rebounds, respectively. Mo Bamba and Robin Lopez posted 11 points each, with Bamba also providing five rebounds, two steals and one block.

Jimmy Butler paced the Heat with 36 points, supplementing them with three rebounds, two assists and five steals. Bam Adebayo generated a 16-point, 13-rebound double-double that also included two assists and one steal. Markieff Morris matched Adebayo's scoring total while also notching three rebounds, while Tyler Herro delivered 13 points, nine assists and five rebounds.

The Magic return home to host the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night, while the Heat pay a visit to the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night as well.
