Nets Confident In Home Win
The Brooklyn Nets defeated the visiting Washington Wizards, 104-90, at Barclays Center on Monday evening.

The Nets jumped out to a hot start with a, 38-20, lead after one quarter. The Wizards tightened it up in the second and managed to outscore the hosts by one-point in the quarter, making it a 17-point game at halftime. The third quarter remained competitive, but the Wizards could not make any progress, as the Nets pushed it back to an 18-point deficit, heading into the final frame. The Wizards kept up their fight in the fourth, but it was not enough, as the Nets held on for the home win, while this marks the first loss of the season for the Wizards.

Kevin Durant led the way for the Nets with 25 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals, in 35 minutes. Patty Mills followed up with 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting, off the bench, while James Harden and Bruce Brown chipped in 14 points each. The Nets shot 42.6 percent from the field, including 10-of-35 from long range.

Meanwhile, Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 19 points on 8-of-22 shooting, in 32 minutes. Daniel Gafford followed up with 13 points and five rebounds, while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Aaron Holiday chipped in 11 points each. The Wizards shot 34.7 percent from the field, including 9-of-39 from deep.

The Wizards (2-1) will look to bounce back as they take on the Celtics in Boston on Wednesday. The Nets (2-2) take on the Heat in Miami on Wednesday.
