Team Analysis
Defenses to Avoid
Miami Heat vs Chicago Bulls
When Hassan Whiteside is healthy and playing, the Heat have arguably the best defense in the NBA. Whiteside is healthy and playing, which means the Bulls will have to face a strong defensive unit that ranks first against point guards, fifth against opposing shooting guards, 26th against opposing small forwards (which the Bulls don't have anyone capable of taking advantage), second against opposing power forwards and 14th against opposing centers.
Offense to Use
Charlotte Bobcats vs Phoenix Suns
The Suns just aren't very good overall, nor on defense. They are the worst defense in the NBA against point guards, which should make Kemba Walker's eyes light up. They're also 27th against shooting guards, 25th against small forwards and 19th against power forwards (though a surprising first against centers).
Teams on Back-to-Backs:
First game: Hornets, Bulls, Lakers, Magic, Trail Blazers
Second game: Nets
Daily Player Recommendations
Point Guard
Kemba Walker, CHA vs. PHO ($7,700): Walker has been strong all season, and on Tuesday he has the prize match-up against the worst defense in the NBA at limiting production to opposing point guards.
Other suggestions: Deron Williams, DAL vs. ORL ($5,800); Donald Sloan, BKN at LAL ($5,100)
Shooting Guard
Victor Oladipo, ORL at DAL ($7,200): Oladipo has averaged 39.0 fantasy points per game over his last six, including 42.8 in his last game, and he has a great matchup Tuesday against the 23rd-ranked defense in the NBA against shooting guards when Evan Fournier could sit out.
Other suggestions: Nicolas Batum, CHA vs. PHO ($6,700); Lou Williams, LAL vs. BKN ($4,800)
Small Forward
Chandler Parsons, DAL vs. ORL ($6,600): Parsons is pretty much a daily play at this price. He has averaged 35.4 fantasy points per game over his last five and is coming off a 46.5 fantasy-point performance in his last game. On Tuesday, he faces the 21st defense in the NBA against small forwards.
Other suggestions: Kent Bazemore, ATL at GSW ($5,100); Mirza Teletovic, PHO at CHA ($5,600)
Power Forward
Aaron Gordon, ORL at DAL ($6,800): Gordon took over a larger part of the Magic offense when Tobias Harris was injured and subsequently traded, and he has settled into his larger role to average 35.6 fantasy points per game over his last six. He has a great matchup Tuesday against the poor Mavericks power-forward defense.
Other suggestions: Draymond Green, GSW vs ATL ($8,600); Bobby Portis, CHI at MIA ($4,800)
Center
Brook Lopez, BKN at LAL ($7,500): Lopez is a big, offensively skilled center. The Lakers, his Tuesday opponents, are terrible at defending centers. Even though he's on the second night of a back-to-back, Lopez should be in for a big day.
Other suggestions: Hassan Whiteside, MIA vs CHI ($8,300); Mason Plumlee, POR at NYK ($4,800)
