Tuesday night brings a fairly light slate in the NBA with only five games, but there are still some great matchups, including the Raptors against the Cavaliers and the Bulls against the Trail Blazers. Let's take a look at some players to consider when crafting your FanDuel lineup to hopefully make the evening a winning one.
DeMar DeRozan, TOR at CLE ($9,200): DeRozan has just been a monster this season as he is averaging 44.9 FanDuel points per game. He has actually been even better of late, posting at least 49.4 FanDuel points in two of his last three games. In his first matchup against the Cavaliers this season, DeRozan scored 32 points to go along with seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. I think he's worth his expensive price in this contest.
Kyrie Irving, CLE vs TOR ($7,400): Like DeRozan, Irving also had a strong performance in the first matchup between the Cavaliers and the Raptors, coming away with 35.2 FanDuel points. He's not your typical passing point guard, but his value comes on the offensive end as he is averaging a career-high 23.9 points per game this season. I think he will have another big offensive performance Tuesday.
Jordan Clarkson, LAL vs BKN ($4,900): Clarkson has put up some useful numbers of late, posting at least 21.1 FanDuel points in four of his last five games. While he has only reached 30 minutes of action in one of those five games, it hasn't stopped him from scoring as he has averaged 16.8 points over those five contests. He won't cost you much Tuesday, so I think he's worth a shot.
Jimmy Butler, CHI at POR ($8,600): Butler just keeps getting better every year. The changes the Bulls made to their roster have really seemed to sit well with Butler as he is averaging 39.0 FanDuel points a game this season. He has really stepped it up of late, posting at least 62.3 FanDuel points in two of his last three games. He gets to the line a ton, is a solid passer and is an excellent defender. All of that adds up to a player I'm rolling with Tuesday.
Andrew Wiggins, MIN vs CHA ($6,900): Wiggins exploded Sunday against the Lakers as he scored 47 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists and one block. He's been a valuable DFS play of late as he has posted at least 30.3 FanDuel points in each of his last four games. He's reasonably priced Tuesday considering his production potential.
Nikola Mirotic, CHI at POR ($4,300): I'm going with my gut on this one as I think this contest between the Bulls and the Trail Blazers is going to be a shootout. If there is one player on the Bulls who is never afraid to shoot, it's Mirotic. He posted 39.7 FanDuel points Saturday against the Wizards and has the potential to go off on any given night. I think he out produces this discount price tag on Tuesday, especially with Doug McDermott (concussion) sidelined.
Dwight Howard, ATL at MIA ($7,900): This is going to be a fun matchup between Howard and Hassan Whiteside. I think both will have good games, but I'm leaning toward Howard having the bigger performance. Howard is averaging 36.2 FanDuel points per game this season and should get plenty of playing time while battling Whiteside, so I think he'll be worth this price.
Jonas Valanciunas, TOR at CLE ($5,800): Valanciunas hasn't received a ton of publicity this season, but he is averaging a very respectable 27.8 FanDuel points per game heading into Tuesday. The Raptors don't really have a quality backup option behind him, which has resulted in him averaging a career-high 28.3 minutes per game this season. I think he is a good mid-tier option if you don't want to break the bank at center.
Tristan Thompson, CLE vs TOR ($4,600): The man who will battle Valanciunas Tuesday is Thompson, who held his own by posting 28.5 FanDuel points in their first matchup this season. While Thompson has thrown up a dud here and there, he is averaging 21.5 FanDuel points a game on the season overall. I don't think he throws up a clunker Tuesday, making him worth consideration at this cheap price.
