FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

If you're a regular on FanDuel, you've surely noticed some huge changes to the pricing over the past few days. More variance has been added to the price tags, as they've raised the prices of the elite players and lowered the ones of the guys who don't play at all. FanDuel has done that while keeping the $60,000 budget the same, so it makes it much tougher to get studs into your lineup. Just keep an eye on the prices going forward and try to capitalize on pricing mistakes that FanDuel makes in this transition period.

John Wall, WSH at ATL ($10,300): With the way Wall is playing right now, he should be the top-priced player as long as Russell Westbrook and James Harden aren't on the same slate. That's just the case here, but Wall finds himself as the third-highest priced player. That simply makes no sense, considering how much better Wall has been than Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant. In his two playoff games, Wall is averaging over 54 fantasy points per game and is carrying this team on his back. A major reason for that is Atlanta's defense, as they are allowing the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season.

DeMar DeRozan, TOR at MIL ($8,200): The recent price hike has risen most of the studs nearly 10 percent, but DeRozan is one of the few elite players who saw a decrease in price. The reason for that was his terrible Game 3, in which he went 0-of-8 from the field in his worst game of the year. That's simply not who DeRozan is and you can be sure he'll find a way to bounce back. Not only is he averaging over 39 fantasy points per game for the season, he dropped at least 34 fantasy points in the two previous playoff games against Milwaukee. That would be great value for where DeRozan is priced and he'll likely be looking at a lower ownership after that nightmare Game 3 performance.

Malcolm Brogdon, MIL vs. TOR ($5,700): Brogdon is one of the leading candidates for the Rookie of the Year award and it's easy to see why in these playoffs. Not only is he averaging 23 fantasy points per game in the postseason, but Brogdon is averaging 33 minutes per game as well. It's the price that's most attractive though, as 33 minutes from a $5,700 starting point guard is impossible to fade. His versatility makes him reliable too, as he stuffs the stat sheet every time he plays big minutes.

Paul Millsap, ATL vs. WSH ($8,100): Millsap has been Atlanta's best player all season long and he should be leaned on heavily in this must-win game. That was evident in his most recent outing, as he scored 46 fantasy points in 35 minutes of action. He did that damage on just 14 shots, so it's clear he's getting to the free-throw line at ease, while running much of the offense through his post. Millsap has owned the Wizards all season too, averaging 32 fantasy points in just 29 minutes of action against Washington this season. He should be looking at close to 40 minutes here with Atlanta down 2-0 in this series, so look for that production to rise exponentially with the increase in minutes.

Khris Middleton, MIL vs. TOR ($7,100): Middleton has been a beast in this series, as it's clear Milwaukee wants to run plenty of their offense through him. In fact, he has at least 28 fantasy points in all three games, while averaging 39 minutes per game. That's huge value from a player with a usage rate over 21, as minutes and usage are the best indicator for future fantasy production. He's also the only small forward between $5,200 and $10,100, so Middleton makes for a safe and valuable option at a shallow position

Tony Snell, MIL vs. TOR ($4,000): With this new pricing format, it's very tough to find a consistent 30-minute guy for under $5,000. We get that here with Snell though, as he's developed a nice role on this team. Not only has he played at least 23 minutes in 31-straight games, Snell is averaging 28 minutes over his last six games. It's not just empty minutes either, as Snell is averaging 16 fantasy points across his last 23 games. That doesn't sound great, but it's good value for a player priced so cheaply. His minutes raise his upside too, as Snell will easily be playing the most minutes of any player priced at $4,000 or cheaper.

Marc Gasol, MEM vs. SAN ($8,000): The center selection on this slate is beyond rough, as Gasol makes for a nice crutch in such a small slate. It's the other centers that make him such a good option, with Dwight Howard and Jonas Valanciunas struggling, Jusuf Nurkic injured and Greg Monroe coming off the bench. The matchup against San Antonio is not ideal, but Gasol has done work against them in this series. In fact, Gasol is averaging 35 fantasy points per game in this series so far.

Marcin Gortat, WSH at ATL ($5,800): Gortat was in a terrible slump throughout the first half, but he's definitely out of it now. Not only is he averaging 35 fantasy points in his two playoff games, Gortat has at least 21 fantasy points in seven-straight games. He's also one of few players who didn't see a major bump in price, as $5,800 is a heck of a value for someone who is performing as well as Gortat is. He's had that sort of success against the Hawks all year too, averaging over 29 fantasy points per game in six games against them this season.
