Yahoo DFS Basketball: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

This will be one of the final three-game slates of the season, as we're winding down toward the conference finals. With each series game more critical than the last, playing time balances become clearer, but there are still a few values to be had.

GUARD

John Wall, WSH vs. BOS ($51): Wall is the highest-priced point guard on the slate and rightfully so. Not only does he have at least 42 fantasy points in all nine playoff games this year, he's averaging 56 per game over his last four. It comes as no surprise when considering the matchup, as Boston has one of the worst defensive point guards in the NBA in Isaiah Thomas.

Patty Mills, SAN at HOU ($15): With Tony Parker out with a quad rupture, Mills is now the main point guard in San Antonio. While he may not be starting, it's clear that he's the primary point guard through the numbers. He is averaging close to 30 fantasy points per game when Parker is out of the lineup, and he had 26 in 30 minutes in a Game 3 victory. It's a great matchup for Mills too, with Houston ranking 26th in total defense during the regular season.

Guard to Avoid

Kyle Lowry, TOR vs. CLE ($36): With Lowry's status up in the air and his playoff struggles hovering over him, it's better to fade the All-Star point guard. Lowry is still dealing with swelling in his ankle, which held him out of Game 3. It's not like he has huge upside either, as he's yet to surpass 39 fantasy points in any of the eight playoff games he's played.

FORWARD

LeBron James, CLE at TOR ($58): It's hard to stay away from James, as he is averaging 34.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.6 blocks per game on 57 percent shooting during the playoffs. That has led to him scoring at least 53 fantasy points in eight straight games. This is a close-out game where LeBron can earn some extra rest too, so look for him to leave it all on the floor and match the 42 minutes he's been averaging in the postseason.

Otto Porter, WSH vs. BOS ($23): Porter struggled throughout the first round, but he's found it over his last few games, scoring at least 24 fantasy points in six straight games, including at least 31 four times in that stretch. He's played at least 38 minutes in every game of this series, which is quite a lot for a $23 salary.

Forward to Avoid

Trevor Ariza, HOU vs SAN ($20): Ariza is coming off one of his best games of the postseason, but he's been wildly erratic. While he does have at least 33 fantasy points in two of his last three games, Ariza has failed to crack 16 fantasy points in five of his last eight. This is a very tough matchup too, with San Antonio allowing the second-fewest fantasy points per game to small forwards during the regular season.

CENTER

Al Horford, BOS at WSH ($29): Elite centers are hard to come by with such few games, but Horford has turned into one of the best fantasy centers in the league. He has scored at least 27 fantasy points in nine straight games, while surpassing 37 six times in that stretch. He's killed Washington in this series too, collecting 112 fantasy points in just 105 minutes through three games.

Pau Gasol, SAN at HOU ($15): Gasol has scored 65.4 fantasy points in 60 minutes over the last two games as the Spurs' starting center, which is incredible value for a $15 salary. The production should come as no surprise with the matchup, as the Rockets allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to centers this season.

Center to Avoid

Clint Capela, HOU vs. SAN ($17): This is a risky fade with how well Capela has been playing, but there are reasons not to like him. The first is the matchup, as the Spurs allowed the second-fewest fantasy points per game to centers this season. Capela has shown the propensity to lose his role throughout games in these playoffs too, as he's only played more than 24 minutes once. There's also reason to believe San Antonio will change their approach to Capela, as he's been one of the best Rockets in this series. That may look like a positive on the surface, but there's no better team at making adjustments than a Gregg Popovich-led team and they'll surely want to make an effort to slow him down.
