FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

The NBA has 10 games on Tuesday, a pretty full slate after a sparse Monday.

We get another installment of the Greek Freak against The King in Cleveland. We get Ben Simmons (who's crying out for a nickname) with Joel "The Process" Embiid on a rest day. We get the unstoppable force of Damian Lillard's blazing shooting against the immovable object of the Grizzlies' dominant defense.

We get the Pelicans' Twin Towers with their nightly video game numbers, plus last year's MVP will be on display. Lots of storylines and potential value out there. Let's explore.

GUARDS

Damian Lillard, POR vs MEM ($9,800): The safer pick might be Russell Westbrook ($10,200), since he's only facing the Kings while Lillard has to deal with the Grizzlies. But Lillard has been in such the zone lately that he still earns the spot. He has produced more than 60 fantasy points in two of his last three games, once against Russell Westbrook and once in Utah. He hasn't had fewer than 44 fantasy points since October 26. For now, ride the hot hand.

D'Angelo Russell, BKN at DEN ($7,300): Russell has settled in fully as the man for the Nets. In the three games that he has played regular minutes since returning from injury, he has averaged 24.3 points, 6.3 assists, 6.3 boards and 2.0 combined blocks/steals per game with more than 40 fantasy points in each outing.

Donovan Mitchell, UTA vs PHI ($5,200): Mitchell is quickly playing himself into an impact role for the Jazz. In his last three games, he has averaged 23.3 points with 4.3 boards, 2.3 assists and 1.7 combined blocks/steals in almost 30 minutes per game. On Tuesday, he has a great matchup against a relaxed 76ers defense that will be missing its defensive anchor in Joel Embiid.

FORWARDS

Kristaps Porzingis, NY vs CHA ($9,800): Porzingis injured his ankle on Friday, missed practice on Saturday, then exploded for 40 points, eight boards and six blocks on Sunday. He's in an absolute zone right now, having scored more than 52 fantasy points in five of his last six outings.

Paul Millsap, DEN vs BKN ($7,400): Millsap and the rest of the Nuggets had an awful game in a blowout loss to the Warriors on Saturday. However, in the five games before that, he scored between 32 and 51 fantasy points in each game with a consistently strong presence. He has good bounceback potential on Tuesday, against a Nets defense that he burned for 42.7 fantasy points just over a week ago.

Denzel Valentine, CHI at TOR ($4,200): Valentine had been playing well of late, even while splitting time with David Nwaba on the wing. Nwaba injured his ankle last game, and Valentine responded with a solid 16 point, six rebound, three assist line in 34 minutes. The lane is open for Valentine to get minutes and continue to produce on Tuesday.

CENTERS

Nikola Jokic, DEN vs BKN ($9,500): Jokic, much like Paul Millsap, had a terrible game in his last outing against the Warriors. However, in the five games previous, he'd produced between 44.5 and 52.8 fantasy points, including 48.8 fantasy points against Tuesday's opponents, the Nets.

Myles Turner, IND vs NO ($7,000): Turner returned from his long concussion layoff on Friday, but has played only 24 minutes in each of the first two games. His per-minute production is still excellent, though, and his price has lowered enough that if his minutes ease upwards in his third game back, he could be a value play.

Richaun Holmes, PHI at UTA ($4,900): Holmes is risky, because he has only played one game this season, 10 minutes in his last outing as he returned from injury. But, he is touted as the main back-up to Joel Embiid, and with Embiid out Holmes could sneak in and put up a big number. Holmes is a high-risk, high-reward candidate.
