DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings NBA series.

The NBA finishes off the week with five games on the schedule Sunday, four of which will be included in the main slate on DraftKings. Most of the elite options in the league aren't playing, leaving Russell Westbrook as the only player priced above $9,000 on DraftKings. You might have more of your budget to work with than normal as a result, so consider adding the below players to your entry.

Guards

Dennis Schroder, ATL at LAL ($7,300): Schroder's numbers might not jump off the page, but he has scored at least 30 DraftKings points in five of his last six games. He has nice upside, scoring at least 46.3 DraftKings points three times over his last 14 games. Sunday brings a great matchup against the Lakers who not only play at the fastest pace in the league (103.8 possession per game), but also allow the second-most DraftKings points per game (48.6) to opposing point guards. He could have one his better performances of the season in this game.

Dennis Smith Jr., DAL vs. NY ($6,300): Finally healthy, Smith is starting to show why so many people thought highly of him in the draft. He enters Sunday having scored at least 30.5 DraftKings points in four straight games despite playing more than 30 minutes in only one of those contests. Playing time isn't a major concern for his value because his 28.5 percent usage rate ranks inside the top-20 in the league. The Knicks allow the fifth-most DraftKings points per game (47.7) to opposing point guards, making Smith an excellent option for your entry.

Dejounte Murray, SA at POR ($4,000): Murray is expected to see increased playing time Sunday with the Spurs resting several veterans, including Tony Parker. Murray was a flop in the last game Parker rested, playing only 14 minutes and scoring 6.8 DraftKings points Wednesday against the Sixers. Patty Mills ended up with the better game, scoring 26 points. However, Mills only had one rebound and one assist in the game, so his value is limited if he's not scoring at a high rate. Murray has a much better chance of contributing in multiple categories, so it might be worth taking a chance that he has the better performance if you are playing in a tournament contest.

Forwards

Paul George, OKC at PHO ($8,200): George has finally started to be a consistent DFS option again, scoring at least 32.8 DraftKings points in eight straight games. His improved scoring has been the main reason, averaging 25.7 points and 4.2 three-pointers over that stretch. Sunday's opponent in the Suns play at the third-fastest pace (103) and allow the most points per game (112.4) in the league. George could be primed for another valuable performance Sunday.

Ersan Ilyasova, ATL at LAL ($5,600): The Hawks don't have a deep roster to begin with, but have been hampered by injuries to their frontcourt throughout the season. Ilyasova has been one of their few constants and is playing particularly well of late, scoring at least 30.8 DraftKings points in six of his last seven games. The Lakers allow the fourth-most DraftKings points per game (48.7) to opposing power forwards, making Ilyasova someone to consider at this reasonable price.

Kyle Anderson, SA at POR ($4,800): With the Spurs resting several players Sunday, Anderson is also someone who will see increased minutes. He was excellent when the Spurs did the same thing against the Sixers on Wednesday, scoring 29.3 DraftKings points in 36 minutes. Anderson has averaged 10.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.4 steals in the nine games this season where he has played at least 30 minutes, making him a great value play option Sunday.

Centers

LaMarcus Aldridge, SA at POR ($7,600): With the Spurs resting players or limiting their minutes lately, Aldridge hasn't seen a drop in production. He enters Sunday having scored at least 40.8 DraftKings points in four of his last six games and should continue to see heavy usage with Kawhi Leonard sitting out. In his first game against Portland this season, Aldridge scored 22 points to go along with eight rebounds and three blocks. He should be one of the most productive centers on the slate Sunday.

Dirk Nowitzki, DAL vs. NY ($5,200): Nowitzki is only averaging 25 minutes per game this season, the fewest since his rookie year. He doesn't play nearly the same role in the offense either, posting a career-low 20.4 percent usage rate so far. Even with his limited playing time and diminishing role, he's still provided value by scoring at least 27 DraftKings points in seven of his last eight games. The Knicks aren't playing well right now, having lost seven of their last eight games, making Nowitzki a viable option at this price.

John Collins, ATL at LAL ($5,000): The Hawks have yet to unleash Collins, who has played 25 minutes or less in six straight games. He still managed to score at least 21 DraftKings points in five of those contests and could really put up big numbers if given more playing time. The Lakers have a lot of depth up front and allow the sixth-most DraftKings points per game (54) to opposing centers, so Collins could be a great value play if he gets a few extra minutes. He's worth the risk in tournament play at this price.
