DraftKings NBA: Monday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings NBA: Monday Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings NBA series.

The NBA starts off the week slowly with only five games on the schedule Monday. There really isn't a marquee game on the slate, so playing some DraftKings could add a much needed spark of excitement for the evening. Here are some players with favorable matchups who could hopefully help you win some money.

Guards

Terry Rozier, BOS at PHO ($7,600): Rozier destroyed the Kings on Sunday, finishing with 57.3 DraftKings points. Not only did he score 33 points and hit eight three-pointers, but he also had five steals. He's seeing heavy playing time with Kyrie Irving (knee) sidelined and has scored at least 31.3 DraftKings points in five of his last six games. The Suns play at the second-fastest pace (102.9 possessions per game) and allow the most points per game (113.9) in the league, which should leave Rozier with plenty of opportunities to excel again Monday.

Andrew Harrison, MEM at MIN ($5,200): The Grizzlies will be without Tyreke Evans (personal) on Monday, who has already missed three of the previous four games. Harrison showed promise with Evans sidelined, scoring at least 34.8 DraftKings point in two of those contests. Harrison has been very productive when given added playing time, averaging 17.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, five assists, one steal and 1.6 three-pointers in 12 games where he has logged at least 30 minutes this season. He should have an opportunity to at least approach that threshold with Evans out.

Trey Burke, NY at CHA ($4,800): The Knicks want to give some of their young players even more minutes down the stretch, so they moved Burke into the starting lineup Sunday against the Wizards. He didn't disappoint, scoring 31 DraftKings points in 27 minutes. He has scored at least 14 points in six of his last seven games as it is, so the extra opportunities to produce that he should receive as a starter give a significant boost to his value.

Forwards

Blake Griffin, DET vs. LAL ($9,200): Griffin only scored 27.5 DraftKings points Saturday against the Bulls, but was only needed for 26 minutes in a lopsided victory. Prior to that, he had scored at least 50.8 DraftKings points in three straight contests. He gets a great matchup Monday against the Lakers, who play at the fastest pace (103) in the league. Look for him to get back to his dominant ways in this contest.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, LAL at DET ($6,200): Caldwell-Pope's numbers of late don't jump off the page, scoring 28.8 DraftKings points or fewer in four of his last five games. The good news is that he is getting a ton of playing time, logging at least 39 minutes in four straight. With Isaiah Thomas (hip) out again Monday, the Lakers backcourt won't have much depth. Expect Caldwell-Pope to spend plenty of time on the floor in this contest, making him a viable option at this price even with his recent struggles.

Luke Kennard, DET vs. LAL ($4,500): Kennard is trying to finish the season on a high note, scoring at least 25 DraftKings points in three straight games. The Pistons have been giving him more playing time, resulting in Kennard logging at least 27 minutes in seven of his last nine games. Stanley Johnson (glute) was injured in the team's last game Saturday against the Bulls and his status is uncertain for Monday. If he can't take the floor, Kennard could see added minutes, giving him upside for your entry.

Centers

Dwight Howard, CHA vs. NY ($8,700): The Hornets have yet to officially be eliminated from the playoffs, so they haven't started to rest their star players yet. Howard has continued his resurgent season down the stretch, scoring at least 44.8 DraftKings points in five of his last seven games. The Hornets were blown out by the Knicks when these two teams met earlier his month, but Howard still managed to score 32.8 DraftKings points in only 27 minutes. If this game can remain close, Howard could be in line for another one of his monster performances.

Enes Kanter, NY at CHA ($6,100): Kanter went through a stretch earlier this month where he was receiving less playing time, but he has logged at least 27 minutes in three straight games. He posted a double-double in each contest, which is no surprise considering he is averaging a double-double on the season for the first time in his career. His upside isn't off the charts based on his potential for uncertain playing time, but his price is also dropping. It's low enough now to make him a viable mid-tier option.

Greg Monroe, BOS at PHO ($5,500): Monroe had a disappointing offensive performance Sunday, scoring only four points in 20 minutes against the Kings. He was just 2-for-10 from the field, which is very uncharacteristic considering he is shooting 57.4% this season. His former team in the Suns allow the fifth-most DraftKings points per game (53.6) to opposing centers, so don't be surprised if Monroe bounces back with a valuable performance.
