Moves to IR
Franks (undisclosed) reverted to the Falcons' injured reserve Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Franks was waived with an undisclosed injury designation Thursday, but he went unclaimed and reverted to Atlanta's IR on Friday. The quarterback-turned-tight-end will now be forced to miss the entire 2023 campaign unless he can reach an injury settlement with the Falcons.

Receives endorsement from teammate
Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts thinks that Franks is "going to flourish" as he makes the transition from quarterback to tight end this preseason, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Franks has worked almost exclusively at tight end during training camp, and he caught one pass for five yards during the Falcons' preseason opener Friday night. Pitts also referenced his former collegiate teammate's athleticism and football IQ as factors that will make him a successful pass catcher in the NFL. Franks reportedly bulked up and worked on his route running this offseason while switching positions, though he'll have to continue to prove his ability if he wants to secure a spot at tight end on Atlanta's final 53-man roster.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
2021
Franks started his career as a quarterback but made the transition to tight end last offseason. The undrafted product out of Arkansas didn't secure either of his targets across 11 appearances in 2022 and failed to carve out a role when Kyle Pitts was sidelined, totaling just 51 offensive snaps. A full offseason as a tight end should bode well for Franks' development, but he's still on the roster bubble heading into a contract year.
