Warren will be fighting for a roster position amongst a crowded Saints' receiving corps. Even if he makes the roster, he will see very few looks behind a talented group of pass catchers.
Warren was on the brink of making the Buccaneers' roster when he dislocated his ankle in the 2007 exhibition finale and spent the year on IR. However, he's been very productive during August over the last two seasons, with six touchdowns over eight exhibition games. The Bucs are looking for a deep-impact wide receiver to pair with Joey Galloway, and Warren has the speed and hands to fill that bill if he can stay healthy.
Warren is fast, but has yet to prove he can catch balls in traffic in the NFL. Longshot to stick in a fourth receiver role; punt return capability may help.
Seventh-round draft choice in 2005 who lived on the roster fringe but never saw game action. Needs a break or two to make this year's roster in a reserve role; his ability to return kicks could help.
The Bucs invited 14 wideouts to training camp. Warren, an athletic seventh-round draft pick from Utah (in addition to catching passes, he returned kicks and even took some direct snaps in Urban Meyer's offense), has perhaps the best shot to beat out most of the crowd in the battle for the fifth/sixth wideout roles. However, he'll still have to look good in camp in order to nail down a roster berth.
