DraftKings NHL: Looking Ahead for Value

DraftKings NHL: Looking Ahead for Value

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

Brendan Gallagher and Nail Yakupov proved worthy from the grouping last week, and they're still standing out as excellent values going forward.

This week, we'll dig deeper down the price ranks and look at a few low-priced options.

Here are your value leans over the next week at DraftKings.

Forwards:

W: Brett Connolly ($3,000)

Beginning Friday, the Bruins have five games over the next nine days, so there will be a number of opportunities to utilize Connolly as a source of cap relief. The Bruins are averaging 4.12 goals per game, and the over has hit in eight straight games.

Connolly has jumped into the top six and is skating with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand, and the trio has showed well. Connolly is also riding a four-game point streak with a goal in each of his past three games.

Plus, Connolly has been a high-end offensive contributor at each stop of his career after the Tampa Bay Lightning made him their first-round selection -- sixth overall -- in 2010.

C: Sam Reinhart ($2,700)

The rookie has been playing the wing on a kid line opposite Johan Larsson and centered by Jack Eichel. And while the points haven't been there for Reinhart, he has a 71.94 CorsiFor percentage while sharing the ice with Eichel and a 73.54 CF% while skating with Larsson this season.

All three youngsters are also sharing the ice with the man advantage, and Reinhart owns the skills to reward on his current price tag. The Sabres upcoming schedule isn't daunting, either.

Defensemen:

Brent Seabrook ($4,700)

The Blackhawks excel at the next-man-up game, as Seabrook is manning the No. 1 power-play unit and eating huge minutes in Duncan Keith's absence.

Seabrook also boasts a four-game point streak with a goal, five helpers, 12 shots and seven blocked shots. Grabbing a more offensively inclined role should propel Seabrook's statistics for the duration over the next few weeks, and his current salary hasn't caught up to his recent production.

Seabrook checks out as a top-tier rearguard in favorable matchups because he tips the scales across all categories. He runs with some high-end talents, too, which certainly doesn't hurt, either.

Ben Hutton ($2,900)

While you have to keep your expectations in check when rolling with a play priced in Hutton's range, he has shown the category coverage to post enough fantasy points to return value most nights.

With Dan Hamhuis injured, there should be a few extra minutes available, and Hutton has been receiving power-play looks with the second unit. The rookie is also starting 56.0 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone.

Plus, Vancouver has a few plus-opponents on deck in their upcoming schedule.

Goaltender

Antti Niemi ($6,700) and Kari Lehtonen ($6,700)

The Stars are sitting at 8-2-0 with an average of 3.5 goals per game, and while they've allowed 2.7 tallies per game and had a few rough outings in net, Niemi and Lehtonen remain priced for profit.

Upcoming, Dallas draws cushy matchups against the Maple Leafs and Hurricanes and winnable outings against the Sharks and Bruins. And remember, backstopping a high-scoring offense always keeps the win bonus in play.

Barring injury, neither goalie projects to grab the majority of starts, and the timeshare should keep their prices down for awhile and continue to present great value in the crease.
