FanDuel NHL: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

The Sunday NHL slate features four games to funnel through while building rosters. Here are some recommendations…

Goalie

John Gibson, ANH vs TB ($8,200): This is risky business, but I'm looking at Gibson as a solid value play. Facing the Lightning won't be easy, but Gibson is priced well and should see enough shots to pay off his $8,200 salary. He's historically been a good goaltender at home and the Lightning have been on the road for what seems like forever and could be a step or two behind.

Centers

Brayden Point, TB at ANH ($5,500): Point has registered points in four of his last five games and serves as a nice value pivot off Steven Stamkos. While seeing time on the second line, Point also skates on the second power-play unit.

Derek Grant, ANH vs TB ($3,300): With the Ducks' top two centers injured, Grant is holding his own skating on the first line. He has points in five of his last six games and is seeing time on the second power-play unit. At just $3,300, it won't take much for him to hit value, and he offers a ton of cap flexibility.

Wing

Dustin Brown, LA vs SJ ($5,600): Brown is enjoying a resurgence this season with seven goals and nine assists. He has points in each of his last two games (one goal, two assists) and is skating on the top line with Anze Kopitar and Alex Iafallo. Brown is also skating on the top power-play unit for the Kings, where he has scored three goals. He seeing plenty of ice time and averaging over three shots on goal, too.

Brandon Saad, CHI vs NJ ($5,600): Saad ended a six-game pointless streak Saturday with a goal against the Hurricanes. He's averaging around 18 minutes of ice time and has fired 21 shots on goal in his last five contests. Saad 's role next to Jonathan Toews and Richard Panik on the top line makes an interesting and affordable stacking combination.

Jakob Silfverberg, ANH vs TB ($5,100): After starting the season with no goals in his first 10 games, Silfverberg is back with tallies in four of his last six contests.

Defense

Hampus Lindholm, ANH vs TB ($4,200): After writing him up the other day, Lindholm scored a goal with five shots on goal. We'll look for lightning to strike twice against the Lightning on Sunday as the Ducks are still without Cam Fowler. With Fowler out, Lindholm has assumed his role as far as minutes go, seeing the ice in all situations. He should easily outproduce his salary.

Brent Seabrook, CHI vs NJ ($4,500): With an assist Saturday, Seabrook now has five on the season to go with one goal. He sees time on the top power-play unit, too. He's $800 cheaper than Duncan Keith, making him a nice option.
