Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

We have a busy night ahead of us in the NBA with 10 games on the schedule Tuesday. With so many players to consider, it can be difficult to narrow down the field for your Yahoo DFS entry. We'll try to make that task a little easier by highlighting some players to target for your entry, as well as a few to potentially avoid.

GUARDS

Russell Westbrook, WAS vs. CHI ($45): Westbrook sat out Sunday's matchup against the Magic for rest, so he'll be ready to go for this matchup with the Bulls. He's been back to his old self out of the gate with his new team, posting a triple-double in both of his first two contests. Look for him to torch a Bulls' defense that has allowed at least 124 points in each of its first three games.

George Hill, OKC vs. ORL ($15): Hill was one of the few veterans that the Thunder brought in during their massive rebuild this offseason. With a lack of depth on the roster, he's been thrust into a starting role. The bad news is that he still hasn't spent a ton of time on the floor, logging no more than 25 minutes in both of the Thunder's first two games. The good news is that he scored at least 31 Yahoo points in both contests. At this cheap salary, he's someone to at least consider based on his starting role.

Guard to Avoid

Eric Bledsoe, NO at PHO ($20): After scoring 18 points in his season debut with the Pelicans, Bledsoe is just 5-for-21 from the field across his last two contests. What's just as concerning is that he had no assists in his last game against the Spurs. The Suns have the makings of a tough defense team this season after allowing 106 points or fewer in each of their first three games, so there's a chance we see another disappointing stat line from Bledsoe here.

FORWARDS

Jerami Grant, DET vs. GS ($20): The Pistons decided to rest Derrick Rose and Blake Griffin on Monday against the Hawks, which left Grant to lead their offense. He didn't disappoint, scoring 27 points to go along with six rebounds, one assist and one block. This came on the heels of him scoring 28 points and grabbing 10 boards against the Cavaliers on Saturday. Even though Rose and Griffin will be back Tuesday, Grant is still one of the top options on the team, making him a prime target at this reasonable salary.

Luguentz Dort, OKC vs. ORL ($14): As good as Hill has been for the Thunder, they need other players to step up on the offensive end to help support Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Dort was up to the task Monday, scoring 26 points and draining five three-pointers. While he may provide inconsistent contributions in rebounds and assists, he should be able to do enough on the offensive end, when combined with his ability to rack up steals, to provide value at this cheap salary.

Forward to Avoid

Eric Paschall, GS at DET ($17): Even with Draymond Green (foot) out Sunday against the Bulls, Paschall moved to the bench. On the bright side, he scored 15 points in the role. The problem is that he only logged 19 minutes. Also, he only has a total of five rebounds and three assists through three games. There's not much to see here.

CENTERS

Andre Drummond, CLE vs. NY ($45): Now that Tristan Thompson is no longer in town, Drummond is the undisputed main man in the middle for the Cavaliers. That's propelled him to averaged of 20.3 points, 14.7 rebounds, four assists, 2.7 steals and 1.7 blocks through three games. The crazy part is that he logged 27 minutes or fewer in two of those contests. With his ability to contribute in so many different areas, he should remain productive Tuesday.

Mason Plumlee, DET vs. GS ($16): Speaking of centers who can contribute in multiple areas, Plumlee also fits that bill. No, he doesn't have nearly the scoring upside that Drummond does and he's not much of a shot blocker. Still, he's averaged 9.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists and two steals through three games. He's locked in as the Pistons' starting center, so take advantage of him at this reasonable salary while you still can.

Center to Avoid

Brook Lopez, MIL at MIA ($18): It's been a quiet start to the season for Lopez, who has scored 17.4 Yahoo points or fewer in all three of his games. Part of the problem has been his playing time being impacted because of the Bucks being involved in lopsided scores. While this matchup might produce a closer outcome, having to face one of the best defensive centers in the league in Bam Adebayo makes Lopez someone to avoid.
