FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

This Sunday has seven games on tap and features a strong mix of bargain bin ballers to help place your FanDuel lineups into the money today. All players listed below are under the $6,000 threshold to help build value into your daily fantasy rosters. Here's a look at today's value plays.

Sunday Value Plays

Point Guard

Jordan Clarkson, LAL, $5,600: Clarkson is quietly making a case for himself as a rookie of the year candidate with a strong second half, since being vaulted into the starting lineup by head coach Byron Scott. He's returned the favor to both Scott and fantasy owners by scoring in double digits in six straight games, including a 22-point game against the Jazz on Feb 25th, and a 25-point, six assist performance against a tough Grizzlies defense Friday. Look for that trend to continue for Clarkson today at home against the Mavericks.

Jeremy Lin, LAL, $5,400: Now, I know you're thinking "did he really just list two Laker point guards here?" You're damn right I did. Lin has finally earned the trust and playing from his head coach, and it's finally starting to show up in the box scores. He's played 27 minutes or more in six of the past seven games, and also has scored 20 points or more in the past 10 games against Charlotte, Oklahoma City, and Boston. Add in the fact that Dallas is ranked 25th in points allowed to opposing backcourts, and you have yourself another juicy point guard option in Jeremy Lin.

Shooting Guard

J.J. Redick, LAC, $4,800: I'm just going to come right out and say it. This is today's best play. If you don't use Redick at this price point, given the situation that he's currently in, you're making a mistake. The Clippers have had no choice to but to rely heavily on Redick with both Jamal Crawford and Matt Barnes out of the lineup at the same time. Today's game against the Warriors figures to have one of the top totals on the board, and Redick is coming of a strong 26-point performance Wednesday against the Blazers. This also gives the Clippers three days rest between games, which is quite rare in today's NBA. Look for Redick to keep rolling today in a shootout in Oakland.

Small Forward

Harrison Barnes, GSW, $4,400: Granted, I may be stretching it a bit, stepping all the way down the small forward ladder to Barnes today on FanDuel. Keep in mind that the Clippers are dead last in points allowed to the small forward position, and Matt Barnes has missed the past two games due to a hamstring injury. You may be better off going with Tobias Harris today if you can afford it, but if you aren't opposed to taking a risk, today may be the right day to roll the dice on Harrison Barnes with this price tag.

Gerald Henderson, CHA, $5,500: Fantasy owners have begun to sour on Henderson a bit with the news that Kemba Walker would soon be taking his spot in the starting lineup. That hasn't stopped Henderson from being Mr. Consistent, scoring in double digits in six straight games, hitting eight treys in that span. He has a plus matchup today in the Detroit Pistons, who have seen their shooting guard defensive stats slide down from 5th overall all the way down to 17th in terms of points allowed over the past 10 games. Henderson is a safe but not sexy play today on FanDuel.

Power Forward

Nikola Mirotic CHI, $5,500: For someone who has scored as well as Mirotic has over the past four games, his price tag is certainly coming at a nice discount. Mirotic is also currently averaging 30 minutes or more per game since Jimmy Butler left the lineup with an elbow injury, and has been given the green light to shoot at will with Butler, Rose and Gibson all out of the lineup. The matchup today against San Antonio isn't the greatest, but given the usage rate and production level, Mirotic is too good of a bargain to pass up.

Center

Tyson Chandler, DAL, $5,900: Chandler hasn't been his normal self since returning to the lineup two games ago following a hip injury, but the matchup today is just too hard to ignore. We all know that he makes his living on the glass, and the Lakers are very accommodating in that area, allowing 15.7 rebounds per game to opposing centers, more than any other team. This is a good opportunity to take a player who figures to have a low ownership percentage and cash in on his production. I like Chandler to double-double today against Jordan Hill and the Lakers.
