FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Saturday's slate gives us an interesting seven-game schedule, with the Kevin Durant's homecoming game being the showcase of them all. What's fascinating about this slate are the abundance of superstars available, as there are four players above $11,000, which doesn't even include Durant. While many will pivot to Durant in his revenge game, I'll give you guys a pair of studs who I believe are better options than KD.

Russell Westbrook, OKC vs. GS -- OR -- James Harden, HOU vs. PHX ($12,500): Harden and Westbrook are always safe options, but it's imperative to get at least one of them into your lineup for this slate. The biggest reason for that is the matchups, with Golden State and Phoenix both allowing a ton of fantasy points to opposing guards. If you can get both of them into your lineup, you've guaranteed yourself 100 points and that alone will put you ahead of the field.

Goran Dragic, MIA at PHI ($8,100): Dragic has been a beast over recent weeks, as he has at least 29 fantasy points in 14 straight games, with at least 35 fantasy points nine times during that stretch. He also draws a strong matchup against the 76ers, as T.J. McConnell is not a strong defender. In addition, Dragic scored 32 fantasy points against the Sixers in their last matchup, despite playing just 28 minutes.

Wesley Matthews, DAL vs. ORL ($5,800): Matthews has revived his career this season, and has been playing monster minutes for the Mavericks. Not only does he approach 40 minutes on a regular basis, he regularly outperforms his price tag. In fact, Matthews has at least 28 fantasy points in six of his last seven games. This matchup is nothing to be scared of either, with Orlando ranking as an average defense, at best.

Kevin Love, CLE vs. DEN ($8,200): Love has been a beast recently and he should be able to abuse this weak Denver defense. The star power forward is averaging 42 fantasy points across his last four games and rebounding at will. What makes him especially enticing is the matchup, with the Nuggets ranking dead-last in defensive efficiency. At just $8,200, Love is one of three lite options at power forward and he undoubtedly has the best matchup of the three (Draymond Green, Nikola Jokic).

Derrick Favors, UTA vs. BOS ($5,000): Favors finally appears to be re-capturing his 2015 form, as he's averaging 30 fantasy points per game across his last three contest. The minutes are the most encouraging aspect, as he's coming off a season-high 33 minutes on Wednesday. That 30-point threshold doesn't even take into consideration his upside, as he was a $7,000 player in the past. At just $5,000, Favors is one of the values of the day and he should be able to have his way inside against a Celtics squad that is one of the worst rebounding teams in the league.

T.J. Warren, PHX at HOU ($4,500): It's strange that Warren's price is still so low, as he's much better than $4,500 would indicate. Warren has played at least 29 minutes in four of his last five games, averaging 26 fantasy points per game in that span. Warren is a great pair with Westbrook and Harden, as he can save you some serious dollars at this price.

Hassan Whiteside, MIA at PHI ($9,100): Whiteside has been a freak recently, as he has at least 40 fantasy points in four of his last five games. What makes him intriguing is the matchup, with the Sixers allowing the most fantasy points in the NBA to centers. That's evident in Whiteside's most recent game against Philadelphia, in which he collected 30 points, 20 rebounds and three blocks in just three quarters of action.

Clint Capela, HOU vs. PHX ($5,300): Capela has been undervalued since returning from injury, and he's recaptured his role as the starting center for Houston. With an average of 31 fantasy points over his last four games, Capela has shown that he's back to being the dominant center that he was at the beginning of the year. His floor makes him attractive, too, as Capela has surpassed 20 fantasy points in nine straight games. The matchup may be the best part of this play, though, with Phoenix allowing the eighth-most fantasy points to centers this season.

Jahlil Okafor, PHI vs. MIA ($4,600): Okafor looks poised to start again with Joel Embiid out and he's been great when given that role. In the last eight games he's played, Okafor is averaging 23 fantasy points per game. While that doesn't sound huge, it's 5X value on his price, which is all you can ask for in cash games.
