FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Guards:

Russell Westbrook, OKC at PHX ($11,800): There aren't many players up to par with Westbrook right now, as he's back to his MVP form from last season. Not only is he averaging over 53 fantasy points per game for the season, Westbrook has at least 57 fantasy points in nine of his last 10 games, while averaging over 60 fantasy points per game in that span. The absurd form isn't even the best part about this play, as Westbrook faces a Phoenix defense that ranks 29th in defensive efficiency and dead-last in points allowed.

Wesley Matthews, DAL vs. NYK ($5,200): Matthews has been sitting below $5,000 for the majority of the season, as FanDuel appears to finally be wising up to his solid play. He's not only regularly playing 35 minutes a game, he's averaging 23 fantasy points per game for the season. Matthews has been especially good recently, averaging nearly 30 fantasy points per game across his last five outings. That sort of role and production is unheard of from a $5,200 player and he should be able to exploit a Knicks defense that ranks bottom-10 in fantasy points allowed to opposing guards.

Jarrett Jack, NYK at DAL ($4,400): Jack has been starting for the Knicks all season and regularly destroying his price tag. Not only is he averaging over 20 fantasy points per game for the season, Jack is playing nearly 30 minutes per game. It's the fact that you get to use a starting point guard at $4,400 that makes Jack such an intriguing option, as his floor is 4X value. That's evident by the fact that he's scored at least 16 fantasy points in 15 of his last 16 games. Not to mention, Dallas allows the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards.

Forwards:

LaMarcus Aldridge, SAN at POR ($8,400): With Kawhi Leonard (shoulder) already ruled out for this game, Aldridge should see a huge usage bump considering he sat out the most recent game due to rest. That should make Aldridge as healthy as ever, with his shots and usage rising exponentially in this game. Aldridge has played well of late too, as he's scored at least 36 fantasy points in six-straight games, while scoring at least 42 fantasy points five times in that stretch.

Harrison Barnes, DAL vs. NYK ($6,400): Barnes has really thrived in a leadership role with the Mavericks, as he's become the go-to player on this team. In fact, Barnes leads Dallas in scoring, shots taken and minutes played. It shows in his fantasy numbers too, as he's averaging over 30 fantasy points a game for the season, while scoring at least 33 fantasy points in three-straight games. The Knicks are really struggling against small forwards recently too, allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to them across their last five games.

Marquese Chriss, PHX vs. OKC ($5,400): Chriss was a huge letdown in the opening weeks, but now that his role is back to where many anticipated, he's starting to provide great value. Chriss actually has at least 24 fantasy points in seven-straight games, as he's averaging nearly 30 minutes a game in that span. That's a 5X floor for a player on the rise, as he's clearly growing in this new offense. That's clear in his usage rate, as his 21 percent usage rate during that seven-game span is one of the four-highest on the Suns.

Centers:

Steven Adams, OKC at PHX ($6,300): The center selection on this slate is far from tasty, as Adams is one of the only reliable options. The three other highest paid players around Adams aren't overly impressive, as Jusuf Nurkic faces an elite San Antonio defense, Julius Randle has an uncertain role and DeWayne Dedmon is injured. Adam has been playing extremely well too, averaging over 30 fantasy points per game for the season. The icing on the cake is the matchup though, as he faces a Suns defense that allows the second-most fantasy points to opposing centers.

Brook Lopez, LAL vs. ATL ($4,200): Lopez hasn't given us much reason to use him this season, but he's simply too talented to be priced this cheaply. Not only was Lopez regularly a $7,000 player over the last five years, he would regularly reach 40 fantasy points per game. The fact that he was injured is what lowered his price initially, as this $4,200 price tag makes Lopez an intriguing option with the sort of upside he provides. Atlanta is terrible against centers too, allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to them for the season.
