DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings NBA series.

After an exciting first day of the NBA playoffs Saturday, the rest of the first round series will tip off Sunday, leaving you with four games to select players from for your DraftKings entry. Here are some players with favorable matchups who can hopefully help you finish the day with some extra money in your pocket.

Guards

James Harden, HOU vs. MIN ($11,100): The addition of Chris Paul helped propel the Rockets to the top seed in the West, but it reduced Harden's assists from 11.2 per game last year to 8.8 this season. Harden did see a slight uptick in scoring though, averaging a career-high 30.4 points per game. Harden finished with a league-high 36.3 percent usage rate this year, so don't be surprised if he has a big game even with Jimmy Butler likely guarding him.

Jimmy Butler, MIN at HOU ($7,800): Butler came back from a knee injury to help the Timberwolves secure the eighth seed out West. He played 42 minutes in the deciding final game of the regular season, scoring 47.8 FanDuel points. Butler loves the big spotlight and has played well in the playoffs, averaging at least 22.7 points per game in both of his last two playoff appearances as a member of the Bulls. At this reasonable price, Butler could provide excellent value Sunday.

Bojan Bogdanovic, IND at CLE ($4,700): Bogdanovic proved to be an important member of the Pacers improbable playoff team, averaging a career-high 31 minutes per game this season. Although he doesn't provide much in the way of rebounds or assists, he did average career-highs in points (14.3) and three-pointers (1.9) per game. The Cavaliers allowed the ninth-highest opponent three-point shooting percentage (36.8%) during the regular season, making Bogdanovic a viable option at this cheap price.

Forwards

LeBron James, CLE vs. IND ($11,500): This was certainly an inconsistent season from the Cavaliers, but not from James, who arguably had the best year of his career. With Kyrie Irving (knee) now in Boston, James will be tasked with carrying even more of the offensive load in the playoffs. He destroyed the Pacers in four previous meetings this season, averaging 28.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 10.3 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per contest. Don't expect them to slow him down in Game 1.

Kevin Love, CLE vs. IND ($7,600): Love finished the season on a high note for the Cavaliers, scoring at least 30.5 DraftKings points in each of his last five games. Although the Cavaliers made several moves at the deadline to try and help their push for another title, Love is still the clear second-best option on the team behind James. He only averaged 28 minutes per game during the regular season, but expect that to jump significantly for the playoffs. If you want to avoid spending big money to get James or Giannis Antetokounmpo into your entry, Love also has significant upside.

Marcus Morris, BOS vs. MIL ($5,300): The Celtics certainly expected to make the
playoffs this year, but they never envisioned having to start their run for a title without Irving of Gordon Hayward (ankle). Their offense is limited as a result, leaving Morris with the second-highest usage rate (22.8%) on the team. He has shown excellent upside, scoring at least 20 points in five of the last eight games he played to close out the regular season. This may not be a high-scoring series overall for either team, but Morris is still someone to consider for Game 1.

Centers

Clint Capela, HOU vs. MIN ($6,400): Sometimes lost in the greatness of Harden and Paul is the excellent season the Rockets received from Capela, who averaged a double-double (13.9 points and 10.8 rebounds per game) for the first time in his career to go along with 1.9 blocks per contest. He gave the Timberwolves problems this season as well, averaging 18.8 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in four games. The price is right to roll with him again Sunday.

Al Horford, BOS vs. MIL ($6,000): Horford is now left as the veteran leader on a Celtics team that is going to be asking a lot from some of their young players in their journey through the playoffs. Horford doesn't have a lot of scoring upside, but he still provides value with his ability to contribute across the board. The Bucks allowed the second-most DraftKings points per game (55.7) to opposing centers during the regular season, so don't be surprised if Horford has a big series.

John Henson, MIL at BOS ($4,600): Not only is this a limited four-game slate, but rotations are tighter in the playoffs. Finding a viable cheap center isn't easy, but Henson fits the bill. He provided the Bucks with reliable production down the stretch, scoring at least 21.3 DraftKings points in 10 of his last 11 games. Going against Horford is no easy task, but Henson still has a large enough role on the Bucks to warrant considering at this price.
