Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Sixers will face off in the 22nd match of the Big Bash League (BBL) in Adelaide on Sunday. The game is of equal importance for both teams as a win will take either side closer to the top-half, whereas a defeat will push them towards the low-ranked teams in the competition.
The home side will enter the contest with a feel-good factor after winning their previous game comfortably against Melbourne Renegades by 32 runs. In the batting department, Strikers will be depending on the likes of in-form Jake Weatherald, Alex Carey and captain Colin Ingram to score bulk of the runs, whereas in the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of Rashid Khan, Ben Lauglin and Billy Stanlake to provide timely breakthroughs.
On the other hand, Sixers will come in the match hoping that they can put up a much better show than they did in their previous match against Hobart Hurricanes, where they ended up with a five-wicket defeat. In the batting department, the visitors will be depending on captain Moises Henriques, Joe Denly and Daniel Hughes to score bulks of the runs, whereas in the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of Tom Curran, Sean Abbott and Steve O'Keefe to provide timely breakthroughs. In the past five meetings between both teams, Strikers have a clear edge as they won four, whereas Sixers only emerged victorious on one occasion.
