Captures Pole at Road America

Alon has scored a shock overall pole for Sunday's Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America. The Silver-rated driver stormed to a 1:51.933 lap time in the No. 85 JDC-Miller Motorsports Oreca 07 Gibson to give an LMP2 car its third consecutive pole in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competition, sportscar365.com reports.

ANALYSIS
The No. 85 JDC-Miller entry has been fast all weekend, so it wasn't too surprising to see Alon score the pole position for Sunday's race. He beat out Ricky Taylor in the No. 7 Team Penske Acura machine for the top starting spot. It was Alon's first pole of the season, and fifth-career IMSA Weathertech pole. Alon and Simon Trummer will challenge for a podium finish Sunday at Road America.
