Theegala (neck) has withdrawn from the U.S. Open, Rob Bolton of PGATour.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Theegala had been struggling with a neck issue of late and doctors told him he needed to put the clubs down for a bit. That said, it's hard for any player to have to pull out of a major, but for his long-term health, Theegala probably made the right decision. At this point, it's probably best for Theegala to continue to rest and see if he can come back for the Open Championship July 17-20.
