Bohannon underwent hip surgery in May, and depending on how his recovery goes, he may elect to take a redshirt for the 2019-20 season. While the procedure is in the past and reportedly went well, Bohannon continues to experience discomfort, making it too early to gauge his prospects of playing in the upcoming season. Should Bohannon ultimately elect to sit, the absence of the three-year starter could prove detrimental to Iowa's plans this season. On potential replacement option is freshman Joe Toussaint, while Valparaiso transfer Bakari Evelyn is capable of manning the offense as well. If coach Fran McCaffery goes with a similar alignment as last season, sophomore Connor McCaffery could get the keys to the offense, as he's the only returning option with reps from a season ago. Stay tuned for more information on Bohannon's playing prospect as exhibition play approaches in the fall.
