Richards, a 5-11, 185-pound athlete from Folsom High School in California, has provided Stanford with a commitment to begin playing for the Cardinal in 2011, the San Franciso Examiner reports.

Stanford builds upon a recruiting class already ranked in the top 15 in the country by adding Richards, who, as a junior in 2009, rushed for 492 yards and nine touchdowns, grabbed 53 catches for 883 yards and an additional nine scores, and recorded 55 tackles and four interceptions on defense. Recruited as a receiver, Richards, notes ESPN's Tom Luginbill, could also end up at corner given his speed, quickness and ball skills.
