Grimes announced Jan. 14 via social media that he has committed to UNLV, joining the program as a transfer from Texas A&M.
ANALYSIS
UNLV will mark the third stop of Grimes' career, which began at North Carolina in 2020. The defensive back was a three-year starter for the Tar Heels before he moved on to Texas A&M ahead of the 2023 campaign. He never took any snaps for the Aggies, however, as he missed the entire season after suffering an undisclosed injury in training camp. After entering the transfer portal earlier in the offseason, Grimes initially committed to Michigan State, only to run into an apparent issue with admissions and flipping to UNLV. Grimes will be able to compete right away for the Rebels in 2024.
