Dixon is a 21-year-old center with a reputation as a solid team player and a bit of scoring prowess. In his first professional season, Dixon was the only Baby Penguins' player to compete in each of the squad's 80 games. Dixon totalled 29 points (12,17) with 45 penalty minutes last year.
He's exhibited a strong hockey sense while playing for Cape Breton of the QMJHL the last several seasons. He doesn't have great size (5-11, 185) or speed, but projects as a crafty checking center. The Penguins lack centermen, Dixon will likely find himself in the minors in 2005-06.
