While we like Smoke as a third-line center and key face-off guy for Montreal this season we're fairly certain he won't pot 18 goals like he did last year. Smolinski was an afterthought in free agency and will be 36 in December.

While Smolinski was the lesser of the two players traded from Ottawa this past summer (Martin Havlat was the other coming to Chicago), he is having a strong training camp and might surprise people with a big 2006-07.

Has inside track on playing with Alfredsson and Havlat. If so he could return to 50-point level. Has most value in leagues that can play him at left wing. Careful, though, as he could still be traded.
