"I went there sharp and in shape," Sexton said. "But when the games started, I just didn't play well. When I initially got (reassigned to minor-league camp), I didn't plan on anything. But the more I thought about it, I realized it would have been very difficult for me to go down to (Class AAA) Portland and really have my focus being 2,000 miles away from my family in Cincinnati. I've always taken a certain pride in giving it my all, both attitude-wise and effort-wise, and I didn't want to jeopardize that if I was going to go there and not have my usual focus."
