Jesse Chavez News: Becomes free agent

Chavez cleared waivers Tuesday and elected free agency, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Chavez opted to enter the open market the last time he was DFA'd by Atlanta, so it's not too surprising to see him do it again. The 41-year-old has allowed two earned runs in three innings across his two appearances this season.
