Kyle Freeland Injury: Injures finger in start Sunday

Freeland exited his start Sunday in Game 1 of a doubleheader with the Nationals after two innings due to an apparent blister on a finger of his pitching hand, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. The lefty was the pitcher of record in Colorado's 3-2 loss, dropping to 0-4 on the season after allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits and one walk while striking out two.

Freeland gave up all three runs during the second inning before leaving with the finger issue. The southpaw now owns a 4.85 ERA with a 19:3 K:BB through 26 frames. He was lined up to face the Reds at home next weekend, but the finger issue could result in his next turn being pushed back.
