Ranger Suarez Injury: Cruises in third rehab outing

Suarez (back) completed his third minor-league rehab start Tuesday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out five in five scoreless innings.

While Suarez cruised through Tuesday's outing, he reached 59 pitches in the start, a modest increase from the 54-pitch start he made his second rehab appearance. The lefty is scheduled to make his fourth rehab appearance Sunday with Lehigh Valley, although it remains to be seen if the status of Cristopher Sanchez (forearm) will change Philadelphia's plans for Suarez. As it stands, Taijuan Walker remains the most likely candidate to be removed from the rotation once Suarez is reinstated from the injured list.
