Scott Moviel

Moviel, who was drafted by the Mets in the second round in 2007, mostly gets noticed for his size - standing at 6-10, 245 pounds - but his pitching opened some eyes this year. He has a 92 mph fastball and an improving curveball but he'll need to show that he can keep his mechanics in gear, although they are relatively polished at this point. Moviel posted a 3.38 ERA and a 37:11 K:BB ratio in 40 innings, allowing 45 hits, but posting a 1.96 G/F ratio, for the Gulf Coast League Mets. He should open 2008 at Low-A Savannah or High-A St. Lucie.
