Dixon crashed in opening practice for the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg NTT IndyCar Series race on the Streets of St. Petersburg on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Dixon was running P12 late in this opening practice in St. Petersburg. With just under 3 minutes remaining the Chip Ganassi Racing star would blow through one of the tighter corners and make hard contact with the outside wall. Dixon's Honda would sustain heavy front end damage and destroy the front wing. The team will now make repairs ahead of Saturday's track sessions, including pole qualifying.
